In the past 20 years, Korea has developed and grown significantly and Hannes has been there along the way – understanding how Korea works and how to connect with key players.

Hannes started in Korea as an equity trader for US-based private equity firms that led to co-invest in and head the trading firm, Lumikko Partners. So began his journey into business development in Korea and a deep understanding of Korean business culture.

Operating his own advisory practice, Second Opinion Co., Hannes advises client companies facing challenges in the Korean market. This expanded to leading roles in a Finnish game studio in Pangyo and in an UK retail tech company in Seoul.

Since establishing Second Opinion in 2007, Hannes has supported his clients with all aspects of business development and operational challenges in Korea. He has worked with a wide range of companies and brands in market entry, research, partner identification and product registrations, particularly with engineering, services and FMCG products. Hannes offers consulting, research, high level networking, HR and business development support; corporate and financial services including company establishments, licensing and statutory accounting services, divestments, joint-ventures and investment projects.

Hannes has been guest speaker and presenter on several Korea related seminars on strategy and market entry at major business events. He holds post-degrees economics from the Helsinki School of Economics.
