The Asia data centre sector remains one of the region’s fastest-growing markets, driven by rapid digitisation, 5G rollouts, cloud adoption and rising demand for Edge computing.
While global concerns around oversupply and a potential AI bubble have raised questions about long-term sustainability, Asia’s growth is supported by a broader and more diverse set of demand drivers than other regions. With regional capacity expected to approach 30GW by 2030 and compound annual growth rate projections ranging from 13 to 22 percent, opportunities continue to emerge across specialised storage facilities, green solutions and energy generation.
However, success is increasingly dependent on understanding local regulations, infrastructure constraints and market-specific demand. For overseas firms, careful market selection and strategic entry planning will be essential in 2026 and beyond.
