Volker Friedrich started his consulting company GBP International in Kuala Lumpur in 1997 and is a well-known expert for foreign and local business partners in and for Malaysia. Volker and his team focus on market entry, local and regional expansion, supply chain improvements as well as sourcing. Volker is of German origin and graduated in International Economics at the University of Duisburg in Germany. He previously worked for large German industrial companies such as Klöckner, Thyssen and Siemens before he joined Roland Berger as a management consultant in Munich.

Volker then moved on to Asia where he commenced his entrepreneurial career by focusing on supporting European companies to enter successfully into Asian markets. Malaysia serves as Volkers second home and regional hub for other Asian markets in ASEAN as well as China and India. Volker travels frequently between Germany and Malaysia.

His major expertise is in the industrial production sector with a focus on machinery and engineering. Other assignments have been in construction, telecommunications and IT, software, automotive and industrial goods & services.
