Partner – Japan

Haruna is the Asian Insiders Partner and a Director and Co-CEO of SK&Co. Inc., a consulting firm based in Tokyo with a focus on cross-border consulting projects.

Haruna spent eight years of her childhood in London and Hong Kong. After graduating from the University of Tokyo, she joined a consulting firm based in Singapore. Later, after working for an automated driving related startup, she founded SK&Co.

Throughout her career in consulting, Haruna has gained extensive experience in supporting Japanese companies with their entry into and business expansion in foreign markets, including managing global M&A and PMI projects. She is currently also helping non-Japanese companies navigate the Japanese market, through various projects including market research and analysis, strategy building and channel/customer development.

Haruna holds a BA in international relations from the University of Tokyo. Given her background and education, she has a strong interest in multi-cultural communication and has also assisted multiple Japanese and non-Japanese companies in their cross-border collaborations mainly from a communication perspective.

This work involves advising both parties on best practices in communication (especially those involving Japanese individuals and companies), and planning for workshops and conferences to facilitate mutual understanding between entities in different countries.
