Originally from Vienna, Austria, Thomas holds a degree in both engineering and economics. Thomas moved to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam in early 1997, at the beginning stages of Vietnam’s economic revival. At the time, he was assigned to improve the output quality of one of the largest Danish furniture producers with production outsourced to 38 local factories throughout the Asia Pacific region with a combined workforce of approx. 7,000 persons.

At the end of 1997, Thomas incorporated his own furniture business in Hong Kong with a USD 30,000 investment. In the third year of operations, the business had annual turnover of USD 10 million with operations accross the globe. Thomas exited this business in 2008.

Since then, Thomas has provided consulting, coaching/mentoring and project management services through companies in Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam and Austria. These services assist international corporations with strategic planning, implementation and optimisation of sales operations in the Asia Pacific region. His main focus is on Southeast Asia and in particular Vietnam.

Throughout his career, Thomas has held several CEO positions in different countries in Asia. In addition, he has been an active member in various business groups and chambers of commerce. Recently, he was appointed as start-up mentor in the Vietnam chapter of the prestigious Founder Institute.
